Mzimba Youth Organisation has commended communities at Gwamba Nkhana in Mzimba district, under Paramount Chief M'mbelwa Traditional Authority M'mbelwa for empowering youths to access land for farming to ensure promotion of agricultural productivity and economic development.

The MYO Executive Director, Moses Nkhana made the call at Gwaba Nkhana village, during a ceremony where the organisation donated fertilizers to Tithandizane Youth Club in the district with an aim to boost agricultural productivity and stimulate economic growth.
Nkhana stressed the importance of youths having own land for farming saying their advocacy for youths, land rights has been fruitful, with young people successfully securing land through their parents' support.
He highlighted that that the donation will assist to enhance agricultural productivity thereby empowering youths and enable them become self-reliant.
"Youths should have access to their own land for farming purposes, we have been advocating for youths' land rights, and it is exciting to see our leaders offering support making the young people to successfully secure a portion of land through their parents' efforts, thereby demonstrating their determination and initiative," said Nkhana.
Member for Tithandizane youth club, Bubile Nkhana underscored the timely donation saying it will boost the club's agricultural projects, empowering youths to improve livelihoods and contribute the communities development.
"We expressed optimism for the donations of fertilizers from the Mzimba Youth Organisation which will help us to take up agricultural farming with the goal of enhancing food security and economy for us to be self-reliant," said Bubile Nkhana.
The project aime at enhancing food security through strengthening tenure land rights for women supported by International Land Coalition and Rodden Berry Foundation.
