American based NGO commended for transforming communities of Mzimba

People in Mzimba District have applauded Giving Basics, a United States of America (USA)-based organization for its outstanding contributions in transforming communities through it's aid provided through Shine on Malawi organisation.

Through the aid provided by Giving Basics, Shine on Malawi has been providing comprehensive support to needy students, farmers, nutrition program to primary schools and vulnerable household in Mzimba.
“Through the Giving Basic’s aid to Shine on Malawi, over 31 students receive sponsorship, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams”, says Shine on Malawi director Starline Mwanghandira .
Mwanghandira said Giving Basics’ unwavering support to Shine on Malawi has brought significant positive change to communities in Mzimba.
“We're grateful for their commitment to our cause which has brought hope to communities through provision of clean water and also attainment of food security at household level."said Mwaghandila.
One of the beneficiaries of the educational programme Mariette Chirwa, a student at St.Patricia Private Secondary School in the district hailed Shine Malawi for its supportive role in her pursuit of education.
"I'm grateful to Giving Basics for sponsoring my education through Shine on Malawi without their support, I would not be able to attend school and because of this aid I am determined to work hard and make the most of this opportunity, "said Chirwa.
Maliyeti Banda from Zachariah Lungu Traditional Authority Mzikuboola who has benefited from farming programes, portable water through taps has experienced satisfaction with the support which has reduced some of the burdens she faced.
“We were struggling to make ends meet, sometimes I slept without food and i used to draw unclean water at Mzimba river due to lack of portable water in our community but thanks to Giving Basics through Shine Malawi, our children can now attend school and receive a nutritious meal, and also providing to us local farmers for farming initiatives including seeds and fertilizer, citing improved crop yields and increased incomes and also paying school fees for my granddaughter, said Banda.
Director for Giving Basics, Amy Sigler emphasized the importance of sustainability, highlighting the significance of providing vital resources to vulnerable people including local farmers, portable water through taps, fertilizers,seeds and among others which is transforming the lives people in Mzimba.
"We believe that by supporting farmers, we can help improve food security and economic stability in the community," Amy Sigler explained. "Our goal is to empower individuals and families to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future."
Sigler said that the community has also benefited from Giving Basics' provision of flour porridge to primary schools, ensuring students receive a nutritious meal. Furthermore, the organization has been working to ensure access to clean water, promoting health and wellbeing in the community.
As Giving Basics continues to drive transformative change in Mzimba, their selfless efforts serve as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.
