This pledge was made by MYO Director, Moses Nkhana, during the prize presentation ceremony for the Mzimba South Netball Tournament held at Tovwirane Hall on Monday.
According to Nkhana, empowering women and youth through various activities, including sports, is one of MYO's primary objectives.
"We deemed it wise to support the tournament as a means of empowering young girls and youths, and we are dedicated to backing initiatives that benefit young people and women," he stated.
Chrissy Makonyola, Chairperson for Mzimba South Netball Association, expressed her gratitude for MYO's support, describing the tournament as a resounding success.
"We are thrilled with the outcome of the tournament and appreciate the support from MYO and other stakeholders."
However, Makonyola emphasized the need for teams to exercise professionalism and patience, and she further stressed the importance of fair play, sportsmanship, and respect for officials, urging teams to uphold these values in their pursuit of excellence.
The tournament concluded with Raiply Queens emerging as champions, taking home a cash prize of K200,000. Mzimba Queens secured second place with K100,000, while Hotlions finished third with K75,000. Makulande earned K50,000 for their fourth-place finish.
