This plea comes following the death of a 33 year old teacher, Station Mbale, from Namatubi village, who committed suicide at Model Primary School in the district over Marital misunderstanding.

According to public relations officer for chitipa police Gladwell simwaka confirmed of the incident saying it occurred on 24th February 2025 around morning hours.

Simwaka said the police were alerted of the incident and rushed to the scene and ferried the body to Chitipa District hospital where postmortem revealed that the deceased died of suffocation.

"We found a suicide note that his death was due to Marital problems. However we encourage people to always seek counseling instead of rushing to commit suicide," said Simwaka.
