Chiefs around Mzimba Boma have expressed disappointment at M'mbelwa District Council officials for failing to attend an interface today and opt for postponement.

We have questions for them- GVH Zungu PIC Victoria Yande
Group Village Headman Zungu from MBC area, said they had many questions to ask lands officers on the dubious sale of plots at the boma as well as seeking clarity on new land laws.
But despite unveiling themselves at the meeting, the lands officers asked for the postponement of the meeting claiming they were abruptly invited and DC was not informed.
The meeting eventually got postponed to Thursday next week, a development which Zungu said the officers used the 'lame' excuse to run away from highly anticipated questions.
"The meeting should have taken place today. We had many questions to ask them. But on Thursday we will come," Zungu said.
M'mbelwa District Council Spokesperson Joel Phiri said the invitation did not come through the Office of District Commissioner and as a result Lands Officers did not have powers to attend the meeting.
He said however, once all procedures are followed, the Council will be available to hear their grievances.
