Mzimba Police Launch Manhunt for Murder Suspects

By Chisomo Sezi

Police in Mzimba have launched a manhunt for suspects believed to be involved in the brutal murder of an unidentified man. The victim's body was discovered in the early hours of Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Chimkusa, a location within the district.

Deputy Public Relations Officer, Constable Maria Banda, confirmed the incident, stating that residents who stumbled upon the body quickly alerted the authorities.

“Preliminary investigations suggest the victim was dragged by a vehicle with a rope, starting from the Southern Bottlers direction toward Chimkusa. The body was severely damaged as a result,” Banda said.

A team of police detectives, accompanied by Traffic Officers, visited the crime scene. Their findings, combined with a postmortem conducted at Mzimba District Hospital, revealed that the victim died from multiple injuries.

Police are appealing to the public for any information about the identity of the victim or any missing persons. They encourage anyone with relevant details to come forward.
