Just like it is the trend everywhere in Malawi, the City of Mzuzu is not left behind.
Kabaza taxis become more useful on Christmas
The use of Kabaza taxis becomes the most cheap accessible, reliable, safer and trustworthy during the festive season.
Kabaza operators are trusted to carry lots of luggage, as well as individuals to and from the Mzuzu city market.
To new visitors in the city they would wonder to see a forest of bicycle Kabaza taxis on the roads to and from on such a busy shopping day for Christmas.
Unlike new year, many people seems to favour Christmas day celebrations.
One of the kabaza operator's Mphatso kathewera said during such festive season Kabaza operators make huge monies unlike other ordinary days.
Kathewera said people prefer Kabaza because they can easily use it to meander through areas they want to go without any problem and without spending more money.
"Today, I have made money , you can see me I am happy. It has been one of my greatest lucky days of the year. I will also be able to shop and enjoy with my family for Christmas and even at the Christmas box," said Kathewera.
One of the customers, Mdhluli Nyirenda said he uses Kabaza most of the time because it is cheap and can get him to any place where vehicles cannot.
"So far this is reliable and the only accessible transport in Mzuzu. One can get to any place he or she wants at any time. You can see all the shoppers are using Kabaza. This tells it all that it is the convenient way to meander through the city of Mzuzu," said Nyirenda.
