Director of Shine on Malawi, Stalin Mughandira, said the key goals of the project: promoting sustainability, improving food security, and ensuring that students have consistent access to nutritious food.
"Many students face food insecurity, and this program is designed to support their nutritional needs while also enhancing their academic performance," said Sibande.
The Primary Education Advisor, Getrude Gama, expressed her gratitude, noting that the project will help reduce student dropout rates by addressing food insecurity.
"We are thrilled to see this support coming to our zone. Many schools here lack school feeding programs, and with the fertilizer and maize provided by Shine on Malawi, we are hopeful that we can improve both nutrition and education outcomes for our students," Gama said.
She also encouraged community members to work together to ensure the program’s long-term success, emphasizing that sustainable farming practices are crucial for ensuring that students never miss a meal.
