The dismissal, which occurred in December, came on the heels of numerous complaints from the public regarding Munjanganja’s behavior both on and off school premises.
Reports have surfaced accusing the teacher of embezzling school fees and engaging in money laundering activities.
According to school authorities, Munjanganja had built a rapport with several parents who entrusted him with funds to pay their children’s school fees.
However, it is alleged that he misappropriated this money for personal use, leading to a significant breach of trust.
The Director of Junior High School, Noah Marina, stated that the management was compelled to take action after receiving multiple reports about Munjanganja’s unprofessional conduct, which threatened the school's reputation.
"We were inundated with reports regarding his behavior. In some instances, we learned that he was receiving money from parents to pay school fees on their behalf but was instead using those funds for his personal business ventures," Marima explained.
The situation escalated to the point where the school was bombarded with complaints and threats from parents demanding the return of their money, disrupting lessons and creating a tense environment.
"A day hardly passed without people besieging the school, threatening violence and interrupting lessons while demanding money from him that he had borrowed and was failing to pay back," Marima added.
As an esteemed educational institution, Junior High School prides itself on its corporate standards and brand integrity.
Marima emphasized the importance of upholding these values.
"We are a corporate organization with a brand and standards to protect; that's why management, in their wisdom, saw it fit to let him go." he said.
Junior High School is recognized as one of the top educational institutions in Zimbabwe, renowned for its world-class learning facilities and consistent academic success year after year.
The swift action taken against Munjanganja underscores the school’s commitment to maintaining its esteemed reputation and providing a safe, trustworthy environment for its students and their families.
