Mseteka said it was later established that Phiri was called to do a transaction at his airtel money kiosk during the night of October 27, 2024, but he never returned home that night and was found dead in the following morning with stub wounds on the stomach.
“Through intensive investigations launched by Jenda Police detectives, it has led to the arrest of Prescious Msonthi, Moses Mithi and Joseph Phiri on November 6, 2024, as there is strong evidence suspecting them of having hand in the gruesome murder.
"One of the suspects was the one who made a false call during that night as if there was business, but it was a trap and he mentioned his two accomplices after being arrested and police is yet to establish the reasons behind the murder," said Mseteka.
The three suspects have been charged with murder which is contrary to section 209 of the penal code, and they will appear before court upon completion of paperwork.
