UTM shadow MP donates K450,000 Hospital beds, Mattress in Mzimba

UTM shadow Member of Parliament for Mzimba Solola Constituency Smartric Jere has donated beds, Mattresses and chairs to Zubayumo health post valued at K450,000 to boost delivery of healthcare services at the facility.

The donation include items such as beds, mattress and chairs.


Speaking during the handover ceremony on Thursday, Jere said the donation will ensure that rural masses are accessing quality health services within Zubayumo Makamo area.



"As a shadow MP and a citizen, I am committed to supporting my people in the health sector. better life is key to any development activity," said Jere.

Director of Health and Social Services for M'mbelwa District Council Dr Prince Chirwa, expressed satisfaction for the donation, noting that the donated items will improve health service delivery in Mzimba South.


"We are grateful for this timely donation, which will enable our health workers to provide better services to the community," said Chirwa.


Senior Group Village Headman Zubayumo Makamo said that that the donation will ensure that pregnant women sleep on comfortable beds and not scratched marts as it was the case in the past.


"This donation is a blessing to our community, we are thankful for this from the shadow MP. Let him continue not only to us but in other areas."Makamo said.

At the health post they mostly doing under five clinics and antenatal clinics for pregnant women.
