Some women calling themselves as women of substance (civil servants) have donated assorted items to patients at Chitipa District Hospital.

The donation is part of showing some love to one another ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
Chairperson of the civil servants women, Suteni Mwangomba said they felt duty bound to assist the patients as part of the Christmas celebrations.
Mwangomba appealed to stakeholders to come forward to assist, saying people in the hospitals lack a lot of necessities.
"Let me appeal to other well wishers to come forward to assist patients in the hospitals because they lack slot of necessities to balance their lives.
"Such people requires our help in both material and spiritual assistance and it is our duty to help," said Mwangomba.
In her appreciation, Nursing Officer at the hospital, Grace Gollen Banda thanked the women saying the initiative is good and it will go a long way to assist the patients in the hospital.
"We are very appreciative to the gesture by the women. We understand the patients go through a lot and they cannot manage to afford all their basic necessities and hence we find this donation timely," said Banda.
One of the benefiary, Efreda Msukwa thanked the civil servants women for extending a hand to assist them.
The items donated include soap,sugar and salt.
