Word for the World has launched Lambya Bible in Chitipa which is set to enhance understanding of God's word among the Lambya people in the district.

In an interview with Good Morning African News on Saturday, the National Director for Word for the World Bible, Manuel Kasisi, expressed his delightment for the development, saying they had waited for the initiative a long time.
He said the Bibles which are currently in use are found in Chichewa, Tumbuka and English but there was none in Lambya for the people of Chitipa and hence an idea to initiate translation to Lambya language which is widely spoken in Chitipa district.
"We hope that through this Bible, many people will be taken to Christ because they will be reading from a Bible written in own language which will help them to understand better about God's Word and hence grow in unity
"So out initial plan after this launch, is to distribute the Bibles across churches," said Kasisi.
Senior Chief Mwabulambya welcomed the translated Lambya Bible saying it will also help preserve their culture since they Will be reading in lambya .
"I am very impressed that Lambya is number 773 in the world .My plea to the people is that they should use it carefully, read it, in order to improve their spiritual achievement, and that's very important," Mwabulambya said.
In addition, Mwabulambya congratulated all translators of the Lambya Bible and stakeholders who took part in the translation.
